The Faculty of Sharia and Law at Khorfakkan University organized a scientific symposium entitled "International Judiciary, Competences and Procedures", in order to discuss a range of diverse axes, including the establishment of the International Criminal Court, and its various competencies represented in territorial jurisdiction, temporal jurisdiction, personal jurisdiction, and subject matter jurisdiction, in addition to the mechanism for referring various cases to the International Criminal Court and its working methods. Dr. Moayad Obeidat, Professor of Commercial Law at the Faculty of Sharia and Law at the University, Dr. Khaled Daqani, Associate Professor of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Sharia and Law at the University, and Dr. Mustafa Al-Nujaifi, Associate Professor of Administrative and Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law at the University, discussed a variety of topics during the symposium with the aim of enriching the legal knowledge of College students, supporting the educational process with the latest teaching and research methods, in addition to enhancing their various legal skills to prepare qualified graduates and researchers to keep pace with the requirements of the local and international labor market, and to provide innovative solutions to various legal problems raised by society. The discussions resulted in a number of recommendations and results that illustrate developmental solutions and strategies to support the continuity of achieving international justice, including, informing the Arab countries of the approach of UAE legislator regarding international crimes that the world is concerned with, urging the amendment of some texts in the Statute of the International Criminal Court to ensure the achievement of international justice, and working to respect the principle of complementarity when adjudicating international crimes.
