The library administration launched the first charity book exhibition at the university campus in coordination with Sharjah Charity, which lasted for three days, interspersed with many different programs and projects. The Event was attended by Prof. Suleiman Mahmoud, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Zeidan, Director of the Library , and Dr. Mona Al-Mulla, Director of Public Relations Department. In his speech, prof. Suleiman welcomed the attendees, saying: On behalf of His Excellency Chancellor of the University, I would like to welcome you all to this event, as we are delighted to participate in this important cultural and social event which is an opportunity for all of us to come together and enjoy books and knowledge and donate them in the charitable entities and support social initiatives, and be very keen on paying attention to the university's vision on conducting meaningful communication and cooperation and participating with various segments of society. The exhibition was attended by faculty and administrative staff, students, visitors, and those interested in reading and charity work. Male and female students from Al-Bayan Private School and Khorfakkan School were also invited, whose participation witnessed a great and wide interaction among all members of society. Members of the faculty of the College of Arts, Science and Information Technology participated in a series of scientific seminars in the programs and activities of the exhibition, on the first day, Dr. Emad El-Din Abu El-Enein seminar was on the impact of the heritage system in UAE in shaping the Emirati identity, the concept of heritage, its place in the lives of nations, its types, and the laws established to preserve it, the efforts made to revive it, its relationship to tourism, and how do we discover and experience it. On the second day, Dr. Mahran Al-Zoubi spoke about the Manuscripts, how to investigate, defining a manuscript, the science of text verification, the human sciences approach, collecting copies, comparison between the copies, and the correct reading. On the final day of the exhibition, Dr. Amna Al-Qaidi discussed the importance of reading and its role in building human mind, Civilizations, developing thought and skills, facilitating language learning, storytelling skills, and methods of addressing different age groups. Many books were sold at nominal prices, on culture, science, Islamic religion, history, sciences, Novels, etc.
