UKF SHINES AT THE INTERNATIONAL GOVERNMENT COMMUNICATION FORUM 2025 WITH PIONEERING RESEARCH AND STUDENT INNOVATIONS

University of Khorfakkan (UKF) made a remarkable impact at the 14th edition of the International Government Communication Forum, through a series of panel discussions, academic presentations, and groundbreaking student innovations that reflected its strong academic and research role in serving community issues, sustainable development, and communication. Professor. Ali Hilal Alnaqbi, Chancellor of the University, participated in a panel titled “Communication for Marine Sustainability – From Strategies to Coastal Quality of Life,” in collaboration with the Sharjah Fisheries Authority. He emphasized the importance of institutional communication in protecting marine environments, supporting biodiversity, and building community culture that enhances coastal life quality—reflecting the University’s commitment to sustainability and its leadership in public awareness in partnership with national and international stakeholders. Faculty members from the College of Marine and Aquatic Biology contributed to specialized sessions on empowering fishermen and advancing marine projects, while highlighting the role of government communication combined with academic knowledge in achieving sustainable coastal development and strengthening food security. Students from the Department of Communication also attended diverse workshops and seminars led by leading local and global media institutions. As part of the Student Innovation Challenge, organized by UAE University alongside the Forum, UKF students showcased creative ideas and practical solutions that embodied their research capabilities. Their achievement culminated in winning first place for their project “Oceans Sustainability”—a design for an advanced submarine equipped with smart sensing technologies to monitor marine environments and develop innovative protection solutions. Through these diverse contributions and successive accomplishments, University of Khorfakkan continues to reinforce its academic and societal role, affirming its position as a leading educational institution that places sustainability, environment, and innovation at the forefront of its strategic priorities.
