Sharjah Ruler inaugurates Khorfakkan University’s dorms

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Khorfakkan, officially opened the new dormitories at the university on Monday morning. These dormitories are part of the university campus and consist of two separate buildings—one for female students and the other for male students. Each building covers an area of 6,286 square meters and provides plenty of amenities for the students. During the visit, His Highness toured the female dormitory to see the facilities and services available to the students. These dorms are designed to create a comfortable and supportive living environment that helps students focus on their studies. They also offer social, recreational, and sports facilities, all while ensuring privacy and safety. His Highness learned about the layout of each dormitory, which has three floors. The ground floor features 20 residential rooms, rooms for supervisors, and a couple of rooms for people with disabilities. It also includes a reception area, a dining hall, a kitchen, and several utility rooms. On the second floor, there are 26 more residential rooms, additional supervisor rooms, a classroom, and a recreation room. The third floor has another 26 residential rooms, more supervisor rooms, and a fully equipped gym for students to stay active. The area around the dormitories includes beautifully landscaped green spaces on the nearby mountain, which were carefully designed to enhance the environment and add to the beauty of the emirate.
