UKF ADVANCES ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP WITH KEY ROLE IN 5TH GLOBAL AI JOURNALISM FORUM AND MOU SIGNING

As part of its ongoing commitment to academic excellence, global scientific engagement, and its pivotal role in shaping the future of research and innovation, University of Khorfakkan (UKF), participated prominently in the fifth edition of the Global Forum for AI Journalism. The forum is organized by the Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting (AIJRF) in collaboration with the American University of Sharjah and featured a distinguished lineup of academics, experts, and thought leaders from around the world. The forum opened with a panel discussion titled “The AI Agent – A Major Leap in the Growth of Artificial Intelligence”, which addressed key transformations in the field of artificial intelligence and explored its future applications. Among the notable participants was Professor Ali Hilal Alnaqbi, Chancellor of UKF, who delivered a keynote address highlighting the importance of investing in integrated smart learning environments driven by AI technologies. He emphasized that such efforts are vital in preparing future-ready generations capable of navigating rapid global changes in the labor market. He also reaffirmed the University’s commitment to academic innovation by developing advanced academic and research programs, establishing smart laboratories, and creating digital platforms to support intelligent learning and scientific research—thus enhancing student capabilities and contributing to sustainable development. In his remarks, Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher, CEO of the Artificial Intelligence Journalism Foundation for Research and Forecasting, stressed the significance of collaboration between the Foundation and University of Khorfakkan. He noted that this partnership aims to strengthen higher education competencies for both students and academic staff, while also advancing the educational system in Sharjah and the UAE through the integration of artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies. As a strategic step toward deepening academic and research collaboration, the University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the AI Journalism Foundation. The agreement aims to enhance teaching methodologies across academic programs by leveraging artificial intelligence and modern technologies, fostering an advanced learning environment that promotes innovation in both education and research. The memorandum also supports aligning educational outcomes with future labor market needs and preparing qualified national cadres equipped with advanced skills aligned with global AI trends. Additionally, several faculty members from the University took part in the first-of-its-kind global challenge titled “Human Talent vs Generative AI Tools (HTGI)”, which formed part of the forum’s activities. This unique competition brought together human talents in a contest against AI systems, responding to various questions and producing a range of academic and media content.
