INSPIRING CONTRIBUTIONS CELEBRATED IN THE THIRD EDITION OF THE "HASTEN TO GOOD DEEDS" COMPETITION

Under the patronage of Ms. Sheikha Al Naqbi, Vice Chancellor for Financial and Administrative Affairs at University of Khorfakkan, the university—represented by its Library in collaboration with the College of Sharia and Law—honoured the winners of the third edition of the “Hasten to Good Deeds” competition. Launched during the holy month of Ramadan, the competition aimed to enhance research skills and intellectual creativity among students, faculty, and administrative staff by encouraging participation across various cultural, religious, and artistic themes. The competition witnessed remarkable engagement, with diverse submissions spanning academic research supported by scholarly sources, as well as artistic and literary works that reflected the spiritual essence of the holy month. Participants also competed in Quran recitation and memorization and produced visual content highlighting traditional Ramadan customs in the UAE. Winners were honoured in the following categories: • Ramadan Cultural Competition: Yaman Bashar Youssef and Hamdan Saif Hilal (College of Marine Sciences and Aquatic Biology), and Iman Mohammed Aboud (IT Department). • Ramadan Inspirations: Khadija Khalifa Hamdan (College of Sharia and Law). • "Ramadan in the Past": Noor Khaled Al Raisi (College of Marine Sciences and Aquatic Biology). • "Read and Rise": Aisha Ali Abdullah Al Baloushi, Saeed Abdullah Al Saadi, Aisha Ali Mohammed Al Baloushi, Saif Yasser Al Hosani, Mohammed Salem Al Naqbi, and Khalid Mohammed Al Baloushi (College of Sharia and Law). The ceremony embodied a spirit of positive competition, highlighting the importance of utilizing Ramadan as an opportunity to reinforce cultural and religious identity, nurture talents, and foster intellectual and creative development towards building a knowledgeable and innovative society.
